IACME Death Investigation Webinar

The IACME Death Investigation Webinar will be Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7. The webinar is open to all Iowa medical examiners and medical examiner investigators. A full day of programming on Friday will include presentations on investigating explosion deaths, forensic toxicology, motor vehicle fatalities and others. A special session will be devoted to COVID-19 death certification.

Saturday’s webinar will be the 3-hour ME-101, Death Investigation Basics. The course will be taught by IOSME staff members Kelly Kruse, MD, MPH and Mark Bethel, F-ABMDI and will cover topics such as death scene practices, medical examiner jurisdiction, decedent identification, and how to fill out an electronic medical examiner report (EMER).
