Midwest Death Investigation Course
The Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner (IOSME) partners with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) to offer an annual Midwest Death Investigation Course, scheduled for June 3-5, 2024. The course will be located on the DMACC campus in Ankeny, Iowa.
This course will satisfy the Iowa Code requirement for Medical Examiner Investigators of attending the St. Louis University School of Medicine Basic Medicolegal Death Investigation Course or its state medical examiner-approved equivalent prior to or within two years of appointment. Continuing education hours will also be offered.
Course cost: $499
*Grant money is also available for county reimbursement to ten attendees ($800 per award, deadline May 8, 2024).
